Two Installation Scenarios (Repair & Axle Manufacturing)

1. Replacing a Worn Stub Axle

Tools: Jack stands (never just a jack), torque wrench, socket set, wire brush, matching grease. Safety: Jack trailer, secure stands, remove wheel.

• Remove wheel, then brake assembly (disconnect/tuck electric brake wiring).
• Remove old hub/spindle. Scrub axle tube (rust/debris ruins alignment).
• Slide in new axle head. Bolt-on types: Crisscross tighten to 120-150 ft-lbs (follow specs).
• Grease hub, reinstall brakes/wheel. Torque lugs (avoid over/under-tightening).

2. New Build: Welding to Axle Tube

Welding tip: Keep tube straight; grind weld area (clean metal bonds better).

• Slide axle head tail into tube (pre-cut to your specs for perfect fit).
• Clamp centered. Level with frame (misalignment = uneven wear/drag).
